After their marriage, Moses, along with his father Martin, and family, move to Montgomery County, Ohio. Moses and Catherine have the following children: Susannah (1808-1886), Mary (1812-), Jacob (1813-1895), David (1814-), Fanny (1815-1856), Abraham (1818-1885), Samuel (1826-), Catherine (1830-), Moses (1830-1873).

Upon their deaths, Frederick and Mary Ellen are buried next to each other in Hill Grove Cemetery, Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio.
On 24 August 1905 Charles Oliver Shaffer, my 1st great grandfather, marries his first wife Maud Eva Guntle (1886-1946). Together, they have two children: Mary Elizabeth (1908-1992), Raymond C (1913-). Sometime between 1910 and 1920, Charles and Maud divorced. Charles remarries a woman named Della M. ? (-), and later dies in 1938. Maud remarries to Edwin Geiger and is killed in a car accident in 1946.
Mary Elizabeth Shaffer, my grandmother, marries Dorwyn C. Fryman (1909-1985) on 5 August 1931, in Montgomery County, Ohio. They have two daughters: Yvonne (1937), Jeannine Kay (1940).

The 1850 Census for Jefferson Twp., Montgomery County, Ohio shows Moses' widow Catharine Hoover living with a 19-year-old boy named Moses. On 18 May 1855, Moses Jr. marries Sarah Hoover (1829-1895) and have the following children: Aurelia Catherine (1854-), Mary Ellen (1858-1936), Laura Belle (1860-1922), Malinda Roulette (1862-1933), Sarah Jane (1864-1937), Charles Oliver (1868-1935). They appear in the both the 1860 Census and 1870 Census.
After the death of Moses and Sarah Hoover, they are buried in Forney Pioneer Cemetery in Jefferson Twp., Montgomery County, Ohio. Unfortunately, the marker has been vandalized and knocked from its base:
